DESCRIPTION:

RhizoGUARD™ is a biofertilizers and/or antagonists (biopesticides) or simultaneously as both, which produce plant growth-promoting enzymes and metabolites controlling growth and development in plants.

KEY BENEFITS:

  • Contains PGPRs (Bacillus subtilis and Bacillus amyloliquefaciens)
  • Biofertilizer function
    • Producing plant growth-promoting metabolites
    • Produces plant growth-promoting enzymes
  • Biofilm production in the root zone
    • Beneficial barrier between the plant and pathogens
    • Protection from a broad range of pathogens
  • Ultimately enables optimal plant growth, health and increased yield potential.

POSITIONING AND FUNCTIONS:

RhizoGUARD™ can act as biofertilizers and/or antagonists (biopesticides) or simultaneously as both.

The plant-growth-promoting activity of the Bacillus spp. used are linked to the suppression of soil-borne plant pathogens, occurring in the competing microflora.  Not only by the production of antimicrobial compounds, but also by stimulating plant-induced systemic resistance (ISR).  These pathogen–biocontrol interactions contribute to the combined suppressive effect.

The multiple strains of plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPRs) in RhizoGUARDTM is a well-known approach to enhance the colonisation of the rhizosphere with beneficial microorganisms.  Plants form mutually beneficial associations with PGPRs, leading to crop productivity.

These Bacillus spp. in RhizoGUARDTM produce enzymes that degrade compounds in the soil contributing to the release of nutrients normally inaccessible to plants, inadvertently promoting plant growth.  The competitive interaction of these Bacillus spp. improves their plant growth promoting effectiveness.
